Purpose of NANOG Wiki
This wiki is not intended to replace either the NANOG website or the NANOG mailing list. However, there is a need for a more flexible repository of NANOG-related information than a FAQ. This wiki allows anyone with useful knowledge or information to contribute directly without going through 'channels'.
Please feel free to contribute and especially to add new pages for topics that you think are relevant to the wider NANOG community. Don't worry too much about getting it right first time. The whole point of a wiki is that many hands make light work. Others will come in after you to edit and restructure your contributions. And you, in turn, should feel free to edit the contributions of others if you feel it will make the wiki more correct, easier to use, and just generally, better.
Below is the original announcement posted to the NANOG list:
The ad-hoc, semi-organised and random collection of people who maintain the NANOG mailing list FAQ have been working for the past little while on relocating the information contained in that document to a wiki, so that it can be maintained by the community in general in the general Way of Wikis.
The initial effort can be seen here:
The wiki is hosted on a MediaWiki platform generously donated by Richard Steenbergen.
The NANOG community is hereby invited to edit and add content to this Wiki so that it can grow to provide a useful and accurate resource for all network operators.
