Martin Hannigan

Martin is currently a senior member of the management team of Verne Global, operators of the largest data center site in the world.

Martin has been a senior member of technical staff and internet engineering and operations management at Bell Atlantic, Level(3) Communications, INTERNAP, Cignal Global Communications, CTC Communications, Microsoft, VeriSign, and most recently participated in government related activities in intelligence with Renesys.

Martin has been active in the Internet community since 1988, collaborating on the design and implementation of many national and global networks that are in use today. He was a founding member of the Boston Internet Special Interest Group, see ISIG, at MIT in Cambridge, MA, the first Internet Special Interest Group. He’s a member of the ISOC, frequently attends Internet operator meetings in North America and elsewhere, a frequent attendee at RIR meetings, and was recently appointed to the ICANN Address Supporting Organization Address Council ASO AC for a 3 year term beginning in 2006.

Martin lives in Boston, MA US, and is an avid outdoorsman and conservationist.
